What’s
the first step?
When you contact us, we will ask you about the type of service
you require, the number and type of pets you have, their personalities
and specific needs. Before beginning service, we will arrange
a free consultation to take place at your home at your convenience.
Here you will meet your sitter, fill out the paperwork and give
us the keys. We will
go over exactly what you want us to do so that we can customize
our service based on your specific requirements.
What
does the sitter do on the visits?
For mid-day dog walks, the sitter takes the dog for a walk,
gives him a treat and fresh water and leaves you a note detailing
what time they were there, how things went, toilet info, etc.
The entire visit lasts 30 minutes. For puppies, the sitter will
bring the dog back in for lunch after
a quick bathroom break, then go out for the remainder of the walk.
On vacation visits, we can also take care of plants, pick up
newspapers and mail, raise and lower blinds or curtains, and alternate
lights to serve as a crime deterrent. We check the entire house
to make sure everything is ok. The visit lasts 30 minutes to one
hour depending on the number and type of animals. We complete
a log detailing each visit for you to read when you get home.
Along with cats and dogs, we are experienced in caring for rabbits,
birds, ferrets, turtles, fish, iguanas, frogs and more.
Can you give
my pet her medicine?
Yes, North Shore Pet Sitters can administer any kind of medicine
your pet requires, whether it’s pills, liquids, insulin, inhalants,
or
subcutaneous fluids.
What if I need
pet care at the last minute?
Once you’re on file, you may request service up until
the last minute and we will do our best to accommodate you. For
instance, if you find you have to work late that evening, call the
office. Our sitters carry cell phones and can often fit in a last-minute
visit. There is a small service charge for booking vacations with
less than 4 days notice.
What type of payment do you accept and what do you charge?
Pricing is based on number of pets and time of day.
The “Rates”
page on this website lists all of our services and rates. We accept
personal/ corporate checks, cash, or electronic payment.
